Happy May 32nd! Or rather, I’m reclaiming Leap Day for right here right now.
Stevie Nicks Fajita Roundup Can you believe that this is not Stevie Nicks and is in fact Lucy Lawless?
Why do we hate the sound of our own voices? No surprises in this article because I’m a big genius who already knew that your voice sounds different in your head because of cool bone vibrations which is why they’ve made some very weird headphones based on that principle.
The Curious Life of Elizabeth Ann the Black-footed Ferret We cannot let these ferrets go extinct because they’re so cute and for that reason alone. Very impressed that they’re able to take down a prairie dog because from my know-nothing estimate they’re about the same size.
Meet Your Mayor Ultimate Match I took this endless quiz from thecity.nyc and did not find my love match as I do not valorize politicians but I guess I learned something. Mostly that there are a couple candidates in this race that I’ve never heard about before and who I think even ranked choice voting will not assist. If you do not understand ranked choice voting please reach out. I understand it extremely well.
Pork-and-Chive Dumplings My chive plants have exploded so I defrosted some dumpling wrappers and am going to attempt this recipe tonight. Or, well, the part about the filling because I’m not going to make the dough from scratch.
I continue to enjoy everything Alicia Kennedy publishes, from her newsletter to this longform Eater essay and on the past and future of vegan cheese.
Ann Friedman structures the links in her newsletter so well and I’m extremely impressed that she hosts it through MailChimp.
My TikTok algorithm is all messed up because I keep bookmarking videos of girls with red hair for color inspiration, regardless of the content of the video. I’m not sure how I’ll show a 12 second meme video to a hairstylist with a straight face, but we’ll get there when we get there.
In my first official announcement as a beauty influencer, I am recommending the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel, which is a nice face moisturizer. It sells for around $25 dollars at CVS, but if you stack your coupons right, you can get it down to about $10, which I find extremely reasonable. The jar is only 1.7 oz, which I think is standard. Again, basing that off of nothing, but a little bit goes a long way and it soaks into the skin immediately. Excellent texture.
Happy Pride Month. I personally am looking forward to getting laid off at the end of the month.
All the best,
